About the Event
Michaelmas falls on September 29th each year, arriving just after the autumn equinox. The festival honors the archangel Michael, who represents truth, love, righteousness, goodness and courage. The story told by our school's Michaelmas pageant is just one of the many variations of Michael. Each class has a role that they inherit throughout the grades- a beloved rite of passage for Waldorf students- and the community comes together for a traditional feast of soup and bread.
Each class is responsible for bringing soup, bread, butter, and fruit. Check out the signup sheets to see what is needed from your class. Signup sheets will be posted outside of Rosebud and Red Rose classrooms, and Grades signup sheets will be posted at the office. Like last year, SoJER (Social Justice, Equity and Responsibility Committee) is encouraging families to bring a soup that is a family recipe or significant to their family heritage.
