Applying for Enrollment
The enrollment process begins when a family completes and submits the enclosed Enrollment Application Form and fee. Parents are then contacted by the class teacher and a time to meet is arranged. Following the initial meeting, if there are no special needs that require consideration, the child is invited to visit the class for a day.

The teacher may request that the visit be extended to include additional days. Child with pumpkinFollowing the classroom visit, the Enrollment Director will contact the family to ensure that the enrollment paperwork and financial arrangments are taken care of. Once complete, the child may attend class.

If the child has an Individual Education Plan in place or if at any time the class teacher determines that the child may have special needs, additional observation and/or assessments of the child may be necessary. The Enrollment Director and class teacher will work with the family to ensure that the steps are completed in a timely manner.

In the case of kindergarten enrollment, placement is determined by the kindergarten teachers, based on the size and balance of each class.

We have long acknowledged that the path which leads a child and family to a Waldorf school, and the acceptance of a child into the class by the teacher, is a spiritual activity. In an attempt to work out of the original impulse of Waldorf education, we have adopted a Tuition Policy which makes this education accessible to all families who value it, regardless of financial status. Our Tuition Adjustment Program (TAP) ensures that the acceptance of a child into the school shall not be determined by the financial resources of the child’s family.

This Tuition Policy does not lessen our strong sense of fiscal responsibility. Tuition contributions are our primary source of operating revenue, and standard tuition contribution rates are set each year at a level which will ensure a balanced operating budget and financial sustainability for the school. We expect that Waldorf education is high on each enrolled family’s list of financial priorities, and that each family will work hard to meet the standard contribution rate before entering into the Tuition Adjustment Process. We expect that adult family members shall be employed to the fullest extent possible; that discretionary expense items such as travel and extracurricular activities, etc. will be suspended if necessary; and that additional resources such as family assets or contributions from extended family and friends will be considered.
